Appetite Control Trick

Older residents of the Japanese island of Okinawa are purportedly the healthiest, slimmest, and longest-lived people on earth. What's their secret? One of their diet secrets is a practice called 'hara hachi bu' which means, "Stop eating when you're 80% full" As a result they eat 10% to 40% fewer calories than Americans do.

How do they do it? It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to get the stomach message that you're full. So if you can stop when you're not quite fill (about 80%), and then wait 20 minutes, you'll find that you really are satisfied with the amount of food you've eaten.

You'll find that the amount of food you've been serving yourself - or have been served in restaurants - is probably twice as much as you need to feel 80% full.
